I’m new to OS but not new to yoga. I’ve been practicing since taking my first yoga class at the UW titled, “Yoga for Westerners,” in 1997. In 2002, I began teaching yoga at the Y in Mukilteo after ending a brief career as a newspaper editor. (Too much stress.) At the time there was no such thing as a teacher certification so my training has been pieces together over the years. I’ve studied mainly Iyengar yoga and have taken trainings at the Seattle Center for Yoga and Seattle Yoga Centers. (Yes, they’re different.) In 2006, I opened my own studio in Everett called Tranquil Turtle Yoga. I taught there and also practiced massage therapy until I moved to OS in the fall of 2019 to devote more of my time to caring for my husband, a retired, disabled veteran.
